Activity Holidays
Spring viewsExploring on foot is the most peaceful and relaxing way to appreciate an area that remains largely undiscovered, despite its proximity to some of the most popular holiday destinations. Walk Andalucia organises walking holidays throughout the year. and welcome couples, singles and small groups alike to enjoy a combination of stunning country and coastal walking. Magnificent food, fine Spanish wine and good company are also a major part of the Walk Andalucia holiday experience.

Andalucia is Spain’s southernmost region and it is one of the most fertile and beautiful regions of Europe, rich in flora and fauna, with spectacular scenery and fantastic views.

AcebuchalWalk leaders and hosts, Dave and Gill Armstead, have lived in the area for the past ten years, are fluent Spanish speakers and are anxious to share their love of this beautiful part of Spain. Dave has a repertoire of over 40 walks visiting such places as Acebuchal, a charming and little known village with a fascinating story.

At Atalaya, hidden from the tourist trails, is a rare Buddhist Stupa with fantastic views across the Sierras de Alhama and Tejeda.

Take a walk from the village of Maro, via the site of a Roman villa and a sugarcane mill, through fertile countryside to a Moorish tower on the cliffs.

Atalaya and Stupa with view to La Maroma

Spring is a great time to visit Andalucia when the scent of lavender, sage, rosemary and thyme is all pervading and the hills are ablaze with a bewildering vista of flowers.

When you come on a Walk Andalucia walking holiday in Spain we offer:

  • Transfers to and from Airport at specified times
