Exhibitions

Caminos de LuzOn Saturday 27 March at 12 noon there will be an inaugeration of the exhibition of paintings belonging to the artists Alberto Agraso and Lucia Peinado in the Tourist Information Center Grazalema. Both artisits will be on hand to welcome and introduce you to their work.

Under the theme "Pathways of Light" Lucia and Alberto are presenting a collection that provokes an experience from within yourself and opens your senses up to light, magic and invokes a spiritual sense of ease.

The exhibition is open to the public until the 3rd of May, hours 10am to 7pm.

Alberto Agraso (Cádiz, 1969), self-taught artist, has completed various graphic design and sculpture courses, participated in diverse exhibits and art fairs organized by the Artisan Association of Cádiz, including those in El Populo and the Baluarte de Candelaria.

Under commission, he has done sculptures, portraits, illustrations, paintings and murals, and designed various promotional posters and pamphlets.

He designed and illustrated the comic for the “2004 Job Calendar” commissioned by the Junta de Andalucia.

In 2009, he held his first solo exhibition in Cádiz, highlighting his paintings, illustrations and sculptures.  He followed that up with exhibitions in the art fairs of Cádiz galleries Ártica and Minimaarte, and later a collective exhibition in the Artist Workshop of the Castillo de Santa Catalina with fellow artist Lucia Peinado.

The artist’s creations are inspired by his personal spiritual search, the most noteworthy being his pilgrimages to the Camino de Santiago de Compostela and his Walk for Peace to Jerusalem where he walked 5000 kilometres for 13 months*.

Caminos de Luz - Alberto Agraso

Lucia Peinado (Cadiz), 13 years as designer and artisan of fashion accessories during which time she participated in various collective expositions and shows hosted by the Artisan Association of Cadiz, highlighting those in the Diputación de Cádiz, el Baluarte de la Candelaria y la Institución Ferial de Cádiz (IFECA).

Has completed various painting courses, highlighting the course for Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Cádiz (UCA).

Has participated en collective exhibitions in the Galería de arte Melkart de Cádiz (1984), Centro Artesanal de la Ciudad de Tetuán (2000), Galeria Aleph de Ciudad Real (2002), Galeria Art Novo-Santi Petri de Cádiz (2004), Centro Cultural del Palillero (1998, 2007, 2008, 2009), and the Artist Workshop of the Castillo de Santa Catalina with fellow artist Alberto Agraso.

Has done solo exhibits in the Sala de Exposiciones-Bahia Sur de Cádiz (1999),  Hotel Novo Santi Petri de Cádiz (1999), Sala de exposiciones ASACA (2000 y 2003), Casa de la Cultura  de Villa Franca de los Barros, Badajoz (2000) y en la Sala de Exposiciones PANGEA de Cádiz (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).

Her works can be found among collectors in Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Holland, Germany and Switzerland.

For the artist, art is a medium through which she enters this magical inner world, allowing her to express through colour and shapes the feelings and inclinations of her spiritual search.
