A new boutique hotel perfectly positioned in the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema, Al  lago,  whose terrace overlooks the stream and spring fed lake of Zahara, is renowned for its contemporary interpretation of Spanish cuisine and breathtaking views.

Interiors are strikingly simple with a focus on understated luxury; comfortable beds, crisp linens, polished natural plaster walls and soothing earth tones. The center piece of each room is its wrought iron French doors opening onto balconies with views over the lake. The bathrooms are finished in local Ronda stone with modern white fixtures. There is a small roof terrace for the use of hotel guests to take the sun and relax. With only four double bedrooms we are able to offer a personalised service.

Our bar, which is open all day, has WiFi and sky television and serves coffees, specialty teas, drinks, cocktails, hot and cold tapas and desserts at all times.

Our restaurant open for lunch and dinner is the passion of Chef/owner Stefan Crites who trained in New York for 13 years before moving to this Andalucian pueblo. The food focuses on locally sourced high quality, often organic produce to create a cuisine based on the recipies of classic rural Spain with hints of eastern and Moorish influences. There is an excellent Spanish wine list which includes local wines as well as gems from bodegas in Ronda.

The local area is perfect for nature lovers, painters, hikers, cyclists and horse riding as well as offering the opportunity to swim in spring water and canoe in the lake during the summer months.  Zahara is within easy reach of Seville, Jerez, Cadiz and Ronda making it a perfect base for sightseeing and soaking in local culture.

All the rooms have air conditioning / heating, flat screen television with cable stations, dvd player, internet connection, hairdryer and ample wardrobes.  Our duvets and pillows are hypo-allergenic.

We are handicap accessible.

We have a selection of books, newspapers, magazines and dvds for the use of hotel guests. Check out is until 12.00 noon and check in from 2.00pm onwards .

Breakfast is served from 8.00am onwards and can be taken in our dining room, bar or out on the terrace. Continental breakfast with cereals, a variety of breads, rice cakes, homemade preserves and hot beverage is included in the room price but a wider range of cooked breakfasts and fresh fruit salads is available from 10.00 am

Dinner is not served on Sunday nights. Provision can be made for a supper to be sent up to your room if ordered by 5.00pm

Al lago is closed for one month every year starting just after the New year.
