The Sierra de Grazalema has recently celebrated 30 years as a Biosphere Reserve - designated by UNESCO due to the exceptional wealth of flora and fauna. The aim of this special weekend is to demonstrate this diversity of fauna, flora and habitats through digital photography and share this with all at the website of ' Biodiversidad Virtual'. This is a Spanish website dedicated to mapping the biodiversity of Iberia and is quickly becoming an exceptional educational tool due to its enthusiastic members.
Members of the 'Biodiversidad Virtual' website upload photographs of animals and plants for identification, filling in the questionnaire of habitat details helps to confirm identification and giving the location shows the distribution of a species.
'Testing' is the name which has been given to these group outings to collect photographs. This is a 'super testing' as it is taking place throughout the peninsular as an eight day event. It is in collaboration with 'Semana Félix', which is a celebration of the life's work of Félix Samuel Rodríguez de la Fuente who opened the eyes of many to their natural surroundings through his passionate presentation of nature programmes shown on the television.
